Why Mickey’s House Exists
Turning 18 shouldn't mean losing your home.
Each year, young adults leave foster care and face adulthood without stable housing, family support, or a reliable place to land. Mickey’s House Foundation was created to offer safe, attractive homes and the stability to build an independent future.
Mickey’s House refers to these young adults as “Timed-Out Foster Youth” — young people who have reached adulthood and aged out of the foster care system.

For eligible students, external programs such as the Arizona Foster Youth Award may help reduce financial barriers to higher education, while Mickey's House focuses on stable housing. Mickey's House does not provide this award.

Why We’re Called Mickey’s House
A legacy of love and giving.
Mickey was Michelle Russell’s mother. After spending time in an orphanage as a baby, she grew into a woman remembered as kind, funny, generous, and loving—someone who gave to others even when she didn’t have much herself.
Her Christian faith shaped her commitment to love, kindness, and service, and it was something she passed on to Michelle.
Created in Mickey’s memory, Mickey’s House Foundation carries that spirit forward by providing safe, beautiful homes where young adults aging out of foster care can find stability, dignity, and support.
